A Simply Stated Resolution

A dear friend sent me a link to a blog site which had posted scripture based backgrounds for iPads, iPhones and computers. I had a difficult time picking one for each device but as I scrolled through I came across the one posted above and it fit so well with the goal I have set for myself in 2014. It's simple: Go and Do. You see, I am extremely introverted and fearful of new experience which means I prefer staying in to going out, I choose routine over new adventures and I cringe at the idea of having to put myself out there but my resolution, my promise to myself for the year 2014 is to no longer live in fear. God is my strength and portion. (Psalm 73:26) He is my guide and good Father. He has plans for me if only I would obey, and go and do. He has not given me a spirit of timidity but of power and love and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7 ESV) I am my own road block.

As I sit in my new apartment, in a new city where I know only one other person I am fearful and anxious of this next year but I reminded to cast all worries on Christ for He will carry my burden. (1 Peter 5:7) I am called to be salt and light and no longer can live in isolation. (Matthew 5:13-16) My desire is to be more and more like Christ, to lean on Him for all needs and to encourage growth in the body.

Join me this year, friend. Step out in faith instead of staying in with fear. God is good!
